{"id":299,"date":"2016-04-04T16:29:49","date_gmt":"2016-04-05T00:29:49","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/automobileman.com\/wp\/?p=299"},"modified":"2016-12-09T12:49:42","modified_gmt":"2016-12-09T20:49:42","slug":"lt4-power-steering-pump","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/automobileman.com\/wp\/?p=299","title":{"rendered":"Gen V LT4 Power Steering Pump"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"> The new generation of LT engines use electric power steering and there is no provision for hydraulic power steering. \u00a0The GM factory built a prototype 1970 Camaro for SEMA that uses a special one-off 3D printed part that accommodates a conventional pump, but that part is not available.<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/automobileman.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/20160131_154719_RichtoneHDR.jpg\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-225\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-225\" src=\"http:\/\/automobileman.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/20160131_154719_RichtoneHDR-1024x576.jpg\" alt=\"20160131_154719_Richtone(HDR)\" width=\"680\" height=\"383\" srcset=\"http:\/\/automobileman.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/20160131_154719_RichtoneHDR-1024x576.jpg 1024w, http:\/\/automobileman.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/20160131_154719_RichtoneHDR-300x169.jpg 300w, http:\/\/automobileman.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/20160131_154719_RichtoneHDR-768x432.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 680px) 100vw, 680px\" \/><\/a>They used a conventional Type II pump as shown above. \u00a0<a class=\"spell\" style=\"color: #000000;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/search?q=Unfortunately&amp;spell=1&amp;sa=X&amp;ved=0ahUKEwiR2InLnvbLAhVX42MKHXnPBRAQvwUIGigA\">Unfortunately<\/a>,\u00a0they run it off the supercharger drive which uses an 8 rib belt instead of a 6 rib belt. \u00a0Whatever the factory used I can&#8217;t find it because it simply doesn&#8217;t exist at this point within the GM family of off-the-shelf parts. \u00a0There are a number of websites that list 8 rib pulleys, but they come at a steep price &#8211;
